Royal Moncel Abbey

Founded in 1309 by King Philip the Fair, Royal Moncel Abbey invites you to discover its marvellous Gothic heritage, including its vast vaulted cellars (covering 500 m²), the frescos adorning the nuns’ refectory and its magnificent framework of Halatte Forest timber. Discover the exhibition “Women, Lives, an Abbey” presenting the day-to-day life of the Clarisses (nuns of the Order of Saint Clare) during the Middle Ages and stroll about the 6-hectare park with its ancient trees
